Tips to care for your wicker furniture, straw and rattan

The rattan , wicker and straw materials are widely used in interior decoration. Such as wood, they require regular care to maintain their shine and last longer. Thus, the furniture made from these materials must be cleaned from time to time. Start first by dusting with the nozzle of your vacuum cleaner. If dust remains in some gaps, do not hesitate to remove it with a soft bristle brush. If your item is stained, wipe it with a sponge soaked in soapy water mixed with a tablespoon of ammonia, and let dry.



If your wicker furniture or rattan is tarnished because of the sun or the humidity , you can upgrade easily. Mix half a cup of bleach to one liter of cold water in a container. Moisten your furniture with this mixture using a sponge and allow the solution to take effect. A very salty water and lemon juice well is also very effective. After 1 or 2 hours, rinse and dry the furniture. If the furniture is made of straw, just simply rub it with a wet sponge in lemon juice before rinsing. You will see the stains disappear like magic.
